Gender Identity and Gender Dynamics:  Grades 4 - 8

The concept and expressions of gender are so quickly expanding for our youth and the facts are: being in quarantine and needing to learn and socialize virtually have led to less gender freedom for our young people - this conversation is more important than ever.

This workshop expands on the question "What does gender have to do with it?", and provide space for participants to talk about and answer "What is gender and why does it organize so much of our lives?"

Through a deep dive into our own gender identity development, we will cover language & definitions for LGBTQ+ terms, and approaches & strategies for creating gender inclusive environments in youth programs and beyond. This training focuses mainly on gender identity formation for youth in grades 4 - 12.

As you review the videos, bring up the: Gender Identity and Gender Dynamics: Grades 4-8 Study Guide and Slide Deck.

Once Cambridge OST providers have watched BOTH videos in this series, they may complete the Gender Dynamics & Gender Identity Quiz to request credit for completing this training on their professional development transcript.
